SCIOPTA Safety RTOS ported to NXP LX2160a

April 26, 2021 by Bastian

SCIOPTA Systems has ported its safety certified SCIOPTA RTOS to one of the biggest irons in the embedded market:

The NXP LX2160A multicore SoC. The SoC with 16 (sixteen!) Cortex-A72 is on a SolidRun COM Express board. SCIOPTA uses its message passing system for the core to core communication which allows applications to use the full power of this chip. SCIOPTA is certified according to IEC61508 SIL3, EN 50128 SIL3/4 and ISO 26262 ASIL D. SCIOPTA is royalty free and supports currently the GNU GCC Toolchain.

SCIOPTA Safety RTOS ported to NXP i.MX8MQ

Feb 5, 2019 by Bastian

SCIOPTA Systems has ported the safety certified SCIOPTA Real-Time Operating System to the NXP imx8mq-evk evaluation board run-ning the NXP i.MX8MQ with quad Cortex-A53 CPU and a Cortex-M4F CPU. The SCIOPTA RTOS is specifically tuned for the AArch64 architecture. This results in a very high performance and a low memory footprint. SCIOPTA is certified according to IEC61508 SIL3, EN 50128 SIL3/4 and ISO 26262 ASIL D. SCIOPTA is royalty free and supports currently the GNU GCC Toolchain.

SCIOPTA CONNECTOR for Xilinx’s UltraScale™

Apr 20, 2018 by Bastian

CONNECTOR is a SCIOPTA methodology that connects SCIOPTA sys-tems on the different ARM cores in a Xilinx Zynq Ultrascale MPSoC. The CONNECTOR enables the developer to use the same clean message based interface of SCIOPTA in distributed systems as on a single CPU system.

Message passing beyond processor boundaries uses the same system calls for transmitting and receiving, although the processes reside on different cores.

Safety Certified Device Drivers for MPC57xx

Feb 21, 2018 by Filip

SCIOPTA is not only certifying Real-Time Operating Systems and Middle-ware. As device drivers are usually part of the safety function, they also need to be certified according to the same level as all other safety software in an embedded system. Therefore SCIOPTA has certified five device drivers for the NXP PowerPC MPC57xx processors. This includes SPI, FlexCAN, ADC, Temperature and Serial Device Drivers. They have been tested by TÜV SÜD according to IEC 61508-1:2010, IEC 61508-3:2010 and IEC 61508-4:2010.
