SCIOPTA Systems AG is announcing the immediate availability of the SCIOPTA Real-Time Operating Systems for the Renesas RX210™ based MCUs.

Beside the fast Real-Time Kernel there is IPS (Internet Protocols, TCP/IP), IPS Applications (Web Server, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, Telnet, TFTP etc.), SFFS (Flash File Systems), USB support, embedded GUI graphics support and the DRUID System Level Debugger available.

SCIOPTA is royalty free and supports actually the C/C++ compilers and environments from GNU GCC and IAR Systems.

Renesas RX200/210

Ever since sales of the RX600 Series commenced in 2009, its products have garnered acceptance in the market thanks to their overwhelming calculation performance and high-speed 100 MHz operation. Now, amidst daily increasing interest in energy-saving and ecologically friendly products, the RX200 Series makes it debut.

As a member of the RX Family, the RX200 maintains the high calculation performance of the RX600 while achieving 1.62V low voltage operation and flash memory programming/erasing capabilities. Peripheral functions have been ingeniously designed to enable easy compliance to IEC 60730, which is required by home appliances in Europe, and the realization of products with high safety capabilities.

By making use of these features, the RX200 Series is the ideal microcontroller for home appliances and other applications requiring safety, such as digital still cameras, smart phones, power meters, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, and IH cooking heaters, that demand low power operation yet high functionality, and long battery life.

The RX210 Group has a wide operating voltage range of 1.62 V to 5.5. V and can execute calculations at 78 DMIPS (Dhrystone million instructions per second) at up to 50 MHz high-speed operation. Furthermore, it achieves 17.3 mA low power performance when operating at 50 MHz. Consumption current in deep software standby mode is a mere 0.3 µA.
